Thank you for stopping by the mailbox this week. The cover is haunting. I'll admit the cover caught my eye though the story doesn't appeal to me.

@Alyce: It wasn't a tremendous change, just a tiny modification. :D But I was surprised that the book did have the power to make me think about doing it (and actually enact the change). I'm a little late with the review, but it should be up soon.

@Wendi B: The cover is what initially captivated me and prompted me to learn more about it. Very chilling indeed, but after reading the story, it would be even more so if the girl weren't wearing such a pretty sweater.

I'm intrigued about how it made you modify your rating system.

Hi Wrighty and welcome! Happy Monday to you, too.

I can say that Forest of Hands and Teeth, while not the greatest book I've read in my life, was definitely worth the time it took to read. It had its flaws and eye-rolling moments, but it definitely had some redeeming qualities.

As for Tithe, I'm not certain what to make of it yet. On one hand, I do like it and am enjoying the story, but on the other hand, I'm finding it easy to set down and not really pick up again (actually paused Tithe to read Forest lol). Not that the story's slow (it's not) or lacking (again, it's not), but there's just something about it that doesn't quite sit right.

I should have the review for that one up by the end of the week, though. I just need some time to let it sink in and collect my thoughts on it.

P.S. I just got Tithe from the library but won't be able to read it for awhile. I'm curious to hear what you think about that one too.
