oh, you've touched on something that i plan to bring up when i get around to writing the actual review. there is definitely a lot of hinduism throughout the book and i've found the story to be more of a quest for sita, trying to understand the meaning of her life. that aspect, imo, was quite well done and i found it to be rather interesting.

i'll always take an excuse to buy a new copy, haha! for a while, in like, 2002ish i wasgoing nuts trying to find my copies of them (they were locked away in storage) and the internet only had really expensive copies, which, was a drag. dunno how i like the new covers though.

i think what i really liked best about these books were all the indian religion stuff, if i remember correctly. OH WHO KNOWS.

i just may read 'em again.

i tend to have that same problem, melissa (not wanting to re-read books that i loved as a kid because my grown up analytical mind will probably call bs on every other page), but what i've discovered is that books which are truly well-written can hold up.

my suggestion, read the first book and see if it holds up. if it does, then carry on. :) (plus, it would make a good excuse to buy the updated copies.)

i really loved the last vampire series when i was a kid. i must have read it so many times. i still have my old copies and they're totally falling apart, i think i should buy this new version just to replace it. hahah.

i must say though, i am afraid to re-read them, as, it's been so long, what if they totally suck to me now?
