I work at a bookstore and I grabbed up the ARC as soon as it arrived because the story of changelings has always creeped me out. This combines the tale of multiple "replacements" with a bit of Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery" short story. The main characters of Mackie, his loving sister Emma, his three staunchly loyal best friends, and a fierce potential girlfriend, Tate, make for a read you seriously don't want to end. LOVED it...and yes, it's definitely worth the wait. Yes, the book definitely lives up to its cover!
