Teaser Tuesdays: Tithe by Holly Black

by Ann-Katrina

Happy Tuesday! It’s time again for another edition of Teaser Tuesdays…

Here are the rules:

  • Grab your current read
  • Let the book fall open to a random page
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12
  • You also need to share the title of the book where you get your teaser from…that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given
  • Please avoid spoilers

Tithe: A modern faerie tale This week’s teaser:

“Kaye was pushed roughly to her knees. She could feel Nephamael sinking down behind her.” pg. 187 Tithe by Holly Black

It has just occurred to me that this is a very short teaser and it happens to be an entire paragraph in and of itself.

My son is reading this book! He has a few graphic novels, he tells me I must read.

Short and to the point! Intriguing. By the way I love the page.

Thanks! I’m glad you all liked the teaser…it was purely luck, I have to admit. It was really the only option between lines 7-12. LOL

@Nisé: When you say “graphic”, do you mean art/drawn (i.e. comics), or do you mean explicit? Your son sounds very progressive. While the book does have some dark elements to it (I’m currently on chapter 6, about a hundred pages in), it doesn’t strike me as something a guy would typically read…having to do with faeries and pixies and all. :D So far, though, the book is pretty good.
