WoW: I Think Zombies Ate My Fence

by Ann-Katrina

I’ve seen making its rounds in the book blog-o-sphere and it looked like fun. On that note, I’ve decided to participate. Heaven knows there are plenty of books I lust after on a day to day basis.

forest-hands-teeth-cover It was a post by Steph that started my recent lusting for The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. I sighed when I saw that it had a trailer.

I’ll admit it. I’m not a fan of book trailers. Most of the time, they look like hackneyed attempts at introducing some upcoming D-rated movie release.

I almost didn’t watch it, but I am weak.

And it surprised me; it actually dared to be well done. Woohoo!

I was already looking forward to the book’s release before watching, but now I’m anxious. (I can’t resist a good suspense-filled horror with some zombies thrown in for good measure.)

On a more random tangent, the trailer and even the concept of being held up in some remote forest community reminded me of The Village and I’m still waiting for the theatre to refund me the time I spent watching it. Had I not learned about the zombie aspect of the book, it would have immediately made it into my burn pile without passing go and without collecting $200.

Release Date: March 2009

Description: In Mary’s world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. When the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her future—between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a world surrounded in so much death?

I’m not a big fan of zombies but it sounds like you are. March will be here before you know it. Happy reading.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Nicole.

I’m a fan of zombies in movies, but when this book comes out it will be my first literary zombie experience. I hope that it’s a good one. :)

*shame* I have begun – but not finished – this one. I know! Do you want to murder me? Drop me a line at my email (I’d email you but gmail marks me as spam which sucks) and I’ll let you in on a little secret. reviewerx at gmail.com :)

    Steph

Kinda weird that Gmail would mark you as spam seeing as how you’re using their service, but I believe you because they do the same thing to me. Yea, that really long sentence was just to let you know that I’ve sent you an email. :)

And no worries, I don’t wanna murder you, but it does make me wonder why you haven’t finished it–time constraints or it couldn’t maintain your interest…
